All registrations will be in the registration tent at the venue. Registration is the process during which you pick up your goodie bag and receive all the information you need for event day. If this is your first entry to the 2010 series, you will receive a complimentary ASICS t-shirt. You will also rack you bike in transition so allow some time to familiarise yourself with the layout of the bike compound and the run and bike entry and exit points. We'll have a team of volunteers to help you! We have security looking after the bikes over night.
REAL Women's Duathlon Course Description – Tauranga
This is a lovely course with wonderful sea views. You will run on a mixture of grass, firm road surface and trail.
Pre-Race Briefing and Marshalling Point
Your event starts at 9am. We would like all participants to be ready for the briefing and warm-up at 8:20am. Therefore we would be happy if you arrive at the venue at around 7:45-8:00am so we can organise you all with the briefing, a warm-up and then marshal you for the start.
Times are as follows:
8:20am Briefing to take place
8:35am Warm-up
8:45am Marshalling into groups by your wave number
9:00am 1st Waves start! (Note: there could be more than 1 wave starting at each interval)
Run/Walk 1 - 3.5km
Start from Ferguson Park and proceed up hill on the grass.
Turn right into Reserve Access leading to Warratah Street.
Turn left onto Waratah Street and follow until turning right onto Ranui Street.
Turn left onto Levers Road. and then left onto Otumoetai Road.
Turn left into Beach Reserve.
Follow path on waterfront to transition.
Transition – run to bike
Once you enter the transition area look for the colour of your row and you will find your transition spot. Once you reach your bike look for the bike exit sign.
Please don't mount your bike until you get to the mount like on the sealed road at the end of transition.
Bike Course - 10km
Mount your bike and ride up Tilby Drive.
Take a left onto Levers Road and follow around to Otumoetai Road.
Make a right turn at the roundabout to take you onto Ngatai Road.
Follow Ngatai Road to turn left onto Charles Street.
Turn right onto Windsor Road and right again onto Princess Road.
Then a quick right onto Queen Road and return down Ngatai Road.
Turn left at the roundabout onto Otumoetai Road and left onto Levers Road.
Stay on Levers Road until Idesia Drive where you make a U-turn.
Return along Levers Road, turn left down Tilby Drive and return to the transition area within Ferguson Park
Transition - bike to run
You will be asked to dismount your bike as you approach the transition area. Cones and barriers will direct you into the transition. Look for the colour of your row and you will find your transition spot.
Run/Walk 2 – 1.5km
Look for the run exit sign.
You will be directed out of the transition area and around the perimeter of Ferguson Park to the Finish area alongside the transition!!
